Just an average run... but Charlotte did it too so I went back and ran with her to the end

First 5km run since my 10k mo run in Novemeber. I ran 2 miles last Monday and my left knee was fine, so as we were in Bouremouth this weekend I decided to do my December park run here. The course is maybe 70% tarmac with the rest being grass or mud, and as its been so wet recently I decided to wear my Merrel sonic gloves as they're more waterproof than my other shoes. They were a good choice, but very slippery on the mud (nearly went over once) but by the last mile I was heel striking on the tarmac due to tiredness, and I also notice my left achilees was tender when running up the small inclines.

I set off at a good pace, not too fast, but after a mile I was slowing and couldnt maintain 6:26 pace. After two miles I was truly knackered, and even contemplated walking, but I kept running and finished about 15th, but my hr was very high all the way round, and my breathing, legs, everything really, were at nearly max.

The course isnt as fast as Cardiff, but it didnt account for my poor speed - 6 weeks of no running can be the only reason.

The good news is that my left knee never even twinged during the run, or after. However my left foot/ankle is tender after the run, but that could be due to the shoes...?
